I have a 60 hr series 2 (hooked up for 2 weeks) and just got the 7.2.2 update so I went out and purchased a Linksys usb200 ver2 wired adapter and put my tivo on the network.

In the music photos products and more screen the only things that work are podcast, live365, nikon pictures and the cool games.

I can also stream music and photos from my computer running tivo desktop 2.2 the media key was checked and rechecked.

I receive guide data and test connect fine.

I CANNOT connect to any Yahoo screen or buy movie tickets or do idol speculation. I get the following error in 3 seconds (no lockup as some have reported)

AN ERROR OCCURRED WHILE RUNNING THE APPLICATION. COULD NOT OPEN THE URL.

I also cannot transfer recordings to and from my computer. The computer reports the following error:

THERE WAS AN ERROR WHILE ATTEMPTING TO RETRIEVE DATA FROM THE SELECTED DVR. TIVO DESKTOP IS UNABLE TO CONTACT THE DVR......

I tried speaking on the phone to tivo and their "network specialist" and he said it might be a firewall problem. I then connected the tivo directly to the cablemodem (rebooting both) with the SAME RESULT (except for desktop access because the computer is no longer in the loop).

Although I am a new user with this unit my girlfriend has the same network adapter and router on her toshiba rs20tx with no problems just different cable providers I'm cablevision she is comcast.

I purchased this unit used 2 years ago and never hooked it up so returning it is not an option. The unit had software version 2.3 then took it up to 3.2 then 7.2.2 and seems to never been setup or was reinitalized before being sold to me. it works great except for the above problems.

I just put a lifetime sub on it on the 12th of april i hate to see it go to waste. please help.

TiVo connection to the Yahoo servers has had some problems lately and they believe the problems have been fixed. There may still be an issue with Yahoo. I believe there is a thread in the Help Forum that discusses it.

I had a similar problem with TiVo Desktop software and TiVo Tech support was very helpful. I assume you are using Windows XP. If yes, uninstall TiVo Desktop via the Windows Control Panel and then reinstall it. TiVo Desktop 2.2 may still have some bugs.

Just an update. I called Tivo again and talked to the "networking department". I could not get past them saying there is a firewall issue with your PC or router. When I told him that I hooked the tivo directly to the cablemodem his reply was that you cant do that because the modem won't assign an ip to the tivo. I explained that there is an ip assigned and I can get guide updates and podcast and live 365 works fine. he said it won't work. He then said he cannot help me till I talk to Linksys. I explained (or shoud i say asked him why my girlfriends setup same router and usb adapter works fine for her but not me he said you have to call linksys before I can help. I called Linksys and they walked me through a few settings. They wanted to know if the router was encripted as thats the only issue they have ever had with tivos not connecting its not. We also tried setting up a DMZ on the router to see if it helps. Guess what I still have the same result. I really don't want to call tivo again because I seem to ge the same guy every time and he is starting to approch rudeness.

Another update

I was playing around with my router setting it to default settings. When I went to the Tivo it said in the network screen pending restart.

I restarted and it loaded a service update! I now have 7.2.2B!!!!

MY TIVO STILL REACTS THE SAME!!!!!
