WMP - seek to middle of program?

I recorded a multi-hour show and have already seen the first half. I went to play the show through tivo desktop/WMP and tried to move the seek slider forward to the middle of the movie. First, the video dropped out and then the video and audio got jumbled. Isn't it possible to seek forward on a show?

Is this a WMP issue?

It could be a codec issue. I can do it fine, but I use Media Player Classic to play .tivo files (I have to wait), and WMP10 works just dandy for me.

Definately a codec issue. I've seen some that can do it with WMP and others that cannot.

I've had luck with the free Cole2K codec.
