Saving the Hard Drive

Guys, Is there any way to move my good hard drive to another D*tv box? The motherboard failed but the HD is fine. When i moved the drive to another RCA DVR80 it booted and the screens came up, but it said that there was a hardware issue. Do i HAVE to wipe the drive before it works? I really need a way to save about 50hrs of programs i haven't watched yet. Any direction would be great. :confused:

You can only move that hard drive into another DirecTV/Tivo of the same make/model. And even then you need to perform a "clear and delete everything" to reinitialize that drive with the new motherboard.
