Good thing I hit refresh before I hit the submit topic button...I'll just copy/paste my post into this one.

Before it started I thought it might have been Creed's joint. His one line this episode had me think I wasn't that far off :)

Glad it's back, this show consistently has me laughing more than any other show on television since the demise of AD.

Thought it was a great episode.. nice to finally have the show back.

The Jim not talking part was great, I thought he was going to tell her "I love you" at one point when he was just looking at her.

So do you think they are going to carry over the whole dwight loss of honor thing for next few episodes?

I dunno about the honor part, but I sure hope they carry over the security supervisor thing.

What was with the line where ryan asked if he could apply to be a drug tester? I thought that meant he was trying to suck up because it was him?? Or was it because of kelly?

Still the only 30 minute show that I actually feel sad as I fast forward through the final commercial break, knowing I've only got 6 or 7 minutes left to watch for the week.

Kelly's become my new favorite minor character Her relationship with Ryan is the anti Jim/Pam. I really hope the "webisodes" or whatever they're calling the stuff for the summer deliver!

I have a friend who is actually a "volunteer deputy sherriff" in Lackawanna County...but he lives in Maryland. He has the badge and everything.

I love when the Office does the Scranton thing right (like Michael going to Montage for the concert).

Pam seemed unusually giddy in this episode. Jenna Fischer is SO cute. Buy Lollilove on DVD.

Pam's smitten factor with Jim went through the roof this episode. She's going to snap soon.

Curious that they didn't include any of the warehouse people during drug testing.

Jim's "hi" to Pam was unbelievably sexy. He gets cuter in every episode.

Just thought I'd throw that out there. :D

John Krasinski hit one out of the park with the whole silent bit.
That whole bit between had me laughing and then when Pam abandoned him to Kelly http://www.dslextreme.com/users/jonathany/images/icons/Guffaw.gif.

Truly the best comedy on.

Now did Angela say she was or wasn't on birth control?

"You're totally harshing the office mellow."

LMAO.

EDIT:

I caught part of an interview with Jenna Fischer (Pam) on Ellen. She said that the computer on her desk is actually functioning and during the scenes that she is required on set only as background, she will surf the net and shop online.

She also replies to fan emails and describes what's happening in the scene being filmed and what ep it's from.

Pretty cool.

I took it that she was not.

Which means we may see the birth of the 4th "Dwight Schrute", or "Dwide Schrude".

Heavy props to the casting director for this show. I've cannot remember a show in television history that had such believable characters and likeable people playing them.

Interesting, the "My father was Dwight Schrute, his father was...." bit from Dwight was originally on the outtakes from the first season DVD.

Aniketos

So my question is, who are Dwight's four exceptions?

My guess is Ryan, Jim, Kevin, and Pam?

I particularly loved Dwight's explanation of being shocked by his father's cheating at his childhood games when he told him years later.

All of the PC's and other office equipment on the set are real and functioning. The whole cast is encouraged to surf the net, use the phones, etc.. They wanted to make it as much like a "real" office as possible.

I think I read somewhere (Maybe Entertainment Weekly) that many of the periphery characters like Kelly and Phyllis are members of the casting department to wriing team...

Phyllis started on the show as a makeup artist (she actually has a pretty decorated career in theatre/musicals) and when they found her reading lines with one of the actors, they decided to bring her on.

I believe that Phyllis Smith (http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0809613/) was a casting associate that they liked so well when reading lines.

I took it to mean that she was taking it but didn't want to say so out loud.

This is definitely one of my favorite shows on right now. It's definitely my favorite comedy right now.

Speaking of casting, I saw an interview with Jenna Fischer where she said that when she was reading for the part of Pam, they had her "reading" a scene where it's like she's being interviewed for the documentary (not sure if there was a script or if it was improv). They asked her something like, "Do you like being a receptionist?" and she just replied "No", without any followup, since Pam wasn't experienced at being interviewed for documentaries. She said once they realized what she was doing they started laughing. She definitely does a great job. I think this interview was on Carson Daly's show.

I finally got around to watching this ep., and the repeat from the previous week, in the early morning hours today. I was real fond of "My Name Is Earl", so when they paired "The Office" with it, I figured I should get serious and set up a SP for "The Office". As much as I still enjoy "Earl", this show has surpassed it and is now doing the seemingly impossible, taking my mind off the cancellation of "Arrested Development". Great cast and great stories! I pity anyone who's not watching this show.

In an interview Michael said he smoked at an Alisha Keys concert.

No, they never revealed. Like a previous poster, I took Creed's interview to be the main clue as to the audience about who's it actually might have been, but even that is just an assumption. I think it was kind of established that it wasn't Michael' joint. Basically his timing on getting high at the Alicia Keys concert was just bad.

Todd Packer!

Amusingly, Michael only -thought- he got high, and -thought- the cloved cigarettes may have been something else.

When Jim couldn't speak and Pam said "Oh, come on, you can tell me anything", the way he facially expressed the realization that there was one thing that he desperately wanted to tell her but couldn't was just amazing. If he doesn't get an Emmy nomination this year I don't see the point of even having them.

And Pam's reaction indicating she knew what he wanted to say was just as good. They are great together. He should really get her a paint set.

We're all forgetting Jim's impression of Stanley.

Kelly is a dark skinned Indian and sadly wouldn't have a chance to get in legimately on many of our Eurocentric American TV shows. Even if they had a "token" Indian on a show, they would definitely pick a lighter skinned one. That being said, I'm really glad she got to break through and add a little diversity to my display.

Dwight trying to get Ryans keys was the best.......
DWIGT: Do you want me to have to do it the hard way?
RYAN: What's the hard way?
DWIGT: <Explanation of the process of getting a search warrant>
RYAN: Yeah, let's do it that way.

I think most of the periphery characters are former writers or staff that got put into the show because of how believable they were as office drones. I'm pretty sure this applies to Kevin, Kelly, Toby, Phyllis, and Creed and maybe a couple of others too.

I read an article a while back that the cast actually sits in the office and does "nothing" for an hour or two before taping, just to get them into that boring, catatonic office mood.

Kevin is a copy of the character from the UK version.

Creed is probably my favorite. Gotta love a 60s rocker working at a paper company.
