View Full Version : cannot schedule online from any computer

I am a network admin and have access to any PC I need, which I have done trying to get around this issue. the issue is whenever I try to schedule anything online, after choosing the options for show, start time, stop time etc. after clicking Schedule it! I get a page with the following all in red letters - Sorry, but we encountered an error while processing your request. Please try again later.

I have called Tivo support and they don't have a clue what is causing this. They only suggested restarting the tivo and having the tivo manually connect to the tivo service, which didn't help. anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this?

What brand/model Tivo do you have? What version software?

It looks like a problem with the website, not your TiVo. I have seen that error often, sometimes it happens for days at a time. Each time I have a problem, I have emailed the webmaster. After a day or so, it seems to start working again. I don't know why this occurs, though.

I had that problem when I first signed up to schedule the Tivo through Yahoo. It was pissing me off that it would say 'we have encountered a problem', but didn't give me a clue as to what the problem was.

I was able to schedule it from Tivo.com, but their tv listings aren;t as good.

Either way, the problem with Yahoo fixed itself after a few days and I've had no problems.

I have a tivo series 2 from tivo themselves. Software version - 7.2.2-oth.01-2-540

I do all my scheduling through tivo central online, is there a better way I am unaware of? How(where is the link) to email the webmaster?

Yahoo's TV guide supposedly allows that.

Otherwise set recordings directly from the TiVo itself.

(I do use the tivo itself to schedule, when I'm home, but what about when I'm not, is their another way other than tivo central is what I'm asking)

I have also tried the yahoo tv listings, unfortunately for me, when I give it the cable provider info and tell it to retrieve the listings I get a document not found error.
so, what I'm now assuming, is that no one really has a reliable online scheduling system, and if I'm away from home, I'm just screwed.

I find its quicker to program the Tivo, whether for an individual show or a Season Pass, through Yahoo than through tivo.com or through the Tivo itself. I don't like the Tv listings on the Tivo.

yeah, it seems a little less klunky, but that errors out too. Guess I'll keep trying.
