Do you think he killed Volchek or just beat him within an inch of his life? It sure didn't look good at all..

No, it didn't look good. At all. Sandy's butt is on the chopping block, too.

This episode was only "bleh". I guess we have to wait for the fallout from the napkin confession, and I can't believe that the prom was actually held in the Harbor gym. I didn't go to a ritzy school like Harbor, but our prom was held in a catering hall! These kids have had formal balls, so "slumming" in the gym just seems out of the norm for them.
Wasn't Lisa Tucker (American Idol) supposed to sing at the prom? On the subject, I have a different "singsong" stuck in my head: American Girl[...] Outside of the obvious musical product placements, why was this played numerous times throughout the episode?
P.S. "Rigatoni".

So d'you think we'll see more of Anna next season? Probably not, as Seth and Summer obviously can't actually go to Brown and Rhode Island School of Design. After all, the show's called "The O.C.," not "Providence." :D
Theresa in that prom dress. Oh, yass. Please bring her back next season! She doesn't get to be sexy enough on Numb3rs.

That seems like it happens an awful lot on TV and in the movies, proms and formal dances are always being shown in the school gym when in reality they would be in some sort of hotel or hall.

Eh...
Sandy being investigated...eh
I am getting extremely annoyed with Kirsten...get rid of her and have sandy teach law at berkely (Law school called Boalt, I believe).
oooooh volcheck and ryan...eh...didn't we already do this with ryans bro?
So again, marissa is ruining ryans life...the volcheck this was totally her fault...get rid of her. Bring lindsay back, i bet lindsay and ana could potentially get aong
Good ep. So, assuming there is going to be a next season, who else thinks that everyone ends up at Berkeley?
I also like the idea of Sandy teaching Law at Berkeley. That would create some fun story lines if Seth and the gang end up there.......
"He looks like the guy from Full Metal Alchemist." :)
$5K gets stolen and TT screams at the top of her lungs and the whole party comes to a stop? Isn't that just walking around money to these kids?
Summer needs to work on her drunk-acting skills. She was so trashed that she fell off the stage, but then 2 minutes later she latches onto and fully grasps Seth's mumbling apology?
I think that Volcheck ("Kevin"?) secretly has the hots for Ryan.

I was rooting for Kevin in the fight. I'm just sick of Ryan nowadays; incapable of emotion; incapable of growth; incapable of making any kind of decision and sticking to it. He's just turned into a one-dimensional character -- will he or won't he use his fists is about the only thing to figure out about Ryan in any given scene.
And fragile, neurotic and anorexic Marissa -- the woe-is-me it's-all-about-me I-have-to-run-away-and-cry Marissa -- flush yourself down a toilet or something -- whatever, just get off the show. We're sick of your character.
Summer... that was just pathetic; that wasn't "acting drunk" that was just airhead. I suppose it's part of her character to never listen and always talk, but come on already; how many hundreds of times must we endure her mouth flapping away while her ears are away somewhere in Bermuda. Shut up and listen already. Why any boy would want that mess around after getting to know it is beyond me; Anna is about 30 times better... and I hate Anna.
And yeah, everybody's gonna toss their purse in some pile at the Prom, or at the after-party, and not think twice about having $5K in cash in it. It's just sad how everybody associated with this show has gotten some sort of brain disease this season.
I hope this show disappears and this is the last season; I can only imagine how bad it'll be with the "major changes" the creator says he wants to make to reinvigorate the show. I'll feel compelled to watch since we got 2 seasons -- one really good and one better than most -- out of it.

I agree that this season has been the worst thus far, however, I do think it's picked up dramatically after Johnny's death. Now THAT story arc was horrible. If there was anyone who sulked, pissed and moaned more than Marisa, it was Johnny. Good riddance.
I detest Volchek. Why does Ryan care so much that Marisa's involved with a stoner? The guy's a loser and a piece of shi*. It's not like he wields any power or influence anywhere in Newport. I'm a little puzzled as to why his character is one of the focal points of the show. So he was Johnny's big surfing rival....who cares?
What was the point of Anna coming back? Did the actress need a paycheck or something?
Please make Taylor go away. I'm *this* close to fast-forwarding all of her scenes.
I never thought I'd say this, but....I miss Luke!
My biggest problem with The O.C. is that they've made the extremely likeable characters absolutely loathsome. Sandy and Kirsten were two of my favorites...in fact, I actually enjoyed their scenes to those of the "kids". Not so anymore. Sandy's all caught up in the Newport Group (exactly what has he done that's illegal?) and Kirsten seems to be doing...well, nothing after getting out of rehab.
No wonder she relapsed.
She supposedly spent 15 years working under Caleb...surely she's not naive about the demands of the job and how that can impact one's family, not to mention the ethical fine line that builders/developers sometimes walk....
I'm interested to see what the hell Seth has done to have been placed under arrest by the police. Same for Sandy being investigated by the Feds.
In the end, I still like the show and prefer it to a lot of the crap that the networks offer. I'm invested up to this point, so I'll continue watching and hope for a rejuvenation next season.

I think it's the whole written confession of possessing and using pot thing. ;)
But yeah, this episode was meh. And an American Idol cameo just so they can talk about Simon's sweaters? LAME.
I'm wondering what direction the show is going to take next year. If they pull of something drastically different, I'd tune in just for that.
And I'm also wondering if they really have the guts to break up Sandy/Kirsten. The show would focus more on the kids next year, obviously, so if they were going to follow through with that story, that would be the time to do it.

Someone posted a tagged spoiler in one of the other recent episode threads about the direction the show is looking at going next year. I've got to say that it is a very unappealing direction as far as I'm concerned and I'm not all that interested after hearing it. I'll try to summarize below, but go back to a previous thread to find the original:
It was something about how they are going to bring in Marisa's sister as a regular and her friends at Harbor are going to focus on the high school aspect of the show while we'll follow the other four as they transition to adulthood and the adults will take a backseat.
