So I moved into a new place and my computers are hooked up to a wireless network. I have a wired router I can use, but I'm not sure about how to go hooking up my tivo series 2 to a wired network when I'm currently using wireless. Anybody have any advice on how to do this? We don't have a phone line to plug the tivo into. We both use cells as our only phone. Thanks.

You just have to buy a USB-to-ethernet adapator, and then run an ethernet cable to the TiVo. I *believe* you also have to go into the settings and tell the TiVo that you are connecting over wired ethernet. It may detect that automatically, I'm not sure. Then just force a connection, and it should connect.
Good luck!

hey there :)
I have the usb/ethernet adapter. However, my ethernet cable from my modem is plugged into my wireless router. Both the modem and wireless router only have 1 ethernet port on the back of them. So once I hook up my tivo, where am I supposed to plug in the other end of the ethernet cable to?
Like I said, I have an extra wired router and ethernet cable laying around, I just don't know how to configure it into a wireless system. :o

If I'm understanding you correctly and you only have 1 'output' on your wireless router - you would have to plug the cable modem into the wired router first then coming out of the wired router run an ethernet cord to the TiVo and one to the wireless router. That should allow TiVo to connect and you to still be able to use your wireless connection.
