The plane crashed. Everyone died accept for 4 of the main characters. The 'Others' 'found' them and wiped their memories from their brains and froze those 4 characters for 15 years. At that point, 16 of the people who died from the plane crash were brought back to life through "Stages-8-cloning". Also, a few of 'the others' ended up with their brains wiped as well (against their wishes).

So we essentially have over 40 people who think they were involved in an immediate plane crash when they woke up.

The brain is a tricky thing. It doesn't feed the mind with information until it has a chance to work with the information itself. The brain must feed this information to the mind sequentially and it must work with the system of nature to make sure that the speed of the ingestion of information is properly timed.

The other's shoved a bunch of new memories into the brains of the "lost" characters. These memories fit together perfectly to define a complete story from everyone's perspective.

Everything that we have seen the characters experience is an actual memory to them and not what is actually happening in their lives at the present time. Currently they are all in comas.

But their minds are not receiving the information from their respective brains at the same rate. This causes deja vu and vivid dreams that seem like impossible memories. Some people are even experiencing memories that were meant for a different 'lost' individual.

The black horse has some more significance here...

Oh yeah. And Henry Gale is the head honcho.

Or at least thinks he is. The dead one.

If you believe something while on this island then it becomes fact at least in your own mind. And on this island believing is better than knowing.

d 96 h = 108

Also, look at a chart of the elements and see the significance of the 6 numbers.

Soon the island will be turned outside in and we will be the ones that are lost. The characters will be watching us.

Match the letters of 'DARPA' with the ASCII code and add them up.

Beryllium
Oxygen
Phosphorus
Sulfur
Vanadium
Molybdenum

Match the letters of 'DARPA' with the ASCII code and add them up.

Okay, in decimal it's 360. What does DARPA have to do with Lost?

Well, seeing as it's DHARMA, your whole theory is shot to hades in a handbasket!

I'm just glad somebody finally could explain things in a post in a clear, concise, easy-to-understand way. I may see Lost in a whole new way.

Sadly, that post is not in this thread. :D

I think he's referring to the substantial evidence in this thread of the link, which happens to take the form of a user theory at The Fuselage.

http://www.thefuselage.com/Threaded/showthread.php?t=20178

Though, I'm still trying to decypher:

- "Oh yeah. People who like Apples should be having a field day." (The Apple II in the hatch?)
- "d 96 h = 108"
- "look at a chart of the elements and see the significance of the 6 numbers."
- "Match the letters of 'DARPA' with the ASCII code and add them up."

If I can get answers to these, we may feel a little more fulfilled with answers than we do while watching an episode of Lost. :D

Damn, why did I have to read this thread? I guess there's no need to finish watching the series now.

WTF is Darpa???

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. (http://www.darpa.mil/)

Among other things, the Internet grew out of DARPA-funded research (ARPAnet was the first packet-switched network.)
