Ugh. I thought last week was a bad show :o :(
Comparatively speaking, last week ("A Million Little Fibers") was an all time classic when you see "manbearpig."
Parker and Stone should feel ashamed of themselves for even taking a check for this one. Yick.

Hope you have some rippin' left in you, as this one really did seem like another huge back o' suck.
Cereally. (You'll get that reference after you watch the back o' suck).

Very, very weak episode.
I was hoping Manbearpig would actually show up at the end and save the kids.
Then get killed by Al Gore.

I liked it. In the end it was still loads better than last week's.
I thought it was funny that Al Gore kept says "cereal" instead of "serious" :D
And Cartman crapping the treasure at the end and finding out it was fake was great.

"Did Cartman just crap treasure?"
That was a good one. :)

Not a great episode by any means, but I enjoyed the way they "drew" cartman after he had swallowed the treasure and all of his various grunting noises.
Also enjoyed the way they drew al gore in his leather chair console thing. Reminded me of the opening scenes of the incredible hulk.

I also thought Cartman crapping the treasure and they way they drew him were funny as hell.
I thought it was much better than last week, even if it wasn't a great episode.

It almost seems as if they got tired of fighting with CC this season and last and threw together a few chewing gum episodes to tide them over through the end of this run.

Actually, I thought he was saying "serial", too. I'm serial!
Is there some joke about Al Gore that I'm not getting that causes everyone to think he's saying "cereal"?
I agree that this ep. was <Syndrome>lame lame lame lame LAME</Syndrome>. I'm totally serial, dude.

a tale of two story arcs... Cartman's fake treasure was amusing, but the whole Al Gore storyline was just pathetic. Matt and Trey phone in two in a row...

It was a wee bit slow but I did enjoy all the Gore bashing, as I enjoy any political bashing. That's all I am going to say about that! Treasure Fat Cartman was awesome as were the expressions on all the characters faces after he crapped it.

One more thing... is it just me or have they been making kenny more audible lately? In this episode he said a few things that were very easy to understand.

I noticed that too. I haven't noticed it being an overall trend, but it was definitely true this week.

I think it's been true for quite a while - at least since the beginning of this season, and I think even extending back into last season.
(Myself, I like the trend - saves me from hitting the 8 second rewind 25 times just to still not get what he said.)

Yep. This one blew! So did the last one. To me it seems that the ones where they choose to rip on someone famous tend to blow. Anyone else agree? Not necessarilly because of the famous person involved; but these shows just generally blow.

I'm not sure I agree with that line of thought. The Kathy Lee (or is it Cathy Lee?) Gifford one was pretty funny. It was some time back, but Mr. Garrison wanting to kill her to get revenge for the talent contest he'd long since lost was pretty funny. Then of course there was Chef's song about her :D

They've got a pretty mixed bag there-- Kathy Lee Gifford was pretty good, as were the episodes that ripped on Barbara Streisand ("Mecha Streisand" and, in a lesser vein, "Spooky Fish"), Celine Dion ("Not Without My Anus"), and Johnny Cochrane ("Chef Aid"). "Fat Butt and Pancake Head," which was devoted almost entirely to ripping on Jennifer Lopez, was probably the best episode of the show ever (and Ben Affleck got another dose in the not bad "How to Eat With Your Butt"). "Super Best Friends" did a good job taking on David Blaine, and "The Biggest ****** in the Universe" did the same to John Edwards.
Then there are the dogs: "Trapper Keeper" was great, but the subplot with Rosie O'Donnell was a snooze. "Butt Out" with Rob Reiner was lame, the recent one with Oprah was a dud, and "The Jeffersons" with Michael Jackson was like shooting fish in a barrel. "Jared Has Aides" was a barely-funny one-joke concept stretched to 30 minutes, and then they did the exact same thing again with "Trapped in the Closet." The one with the guys from "Queer Eye" actually being crab people was weak. And the one ripping on Mel Gibson was pretty awful, too.
If anything, it looks like the lamer ones attacking celebrities tend to be later in the series than some of the better ones. That's about the only general rule I can come up with.

The Queer Eye One and the Passion of the Jew were works of art! Good golly!

I thought the subplot was brilliant. It really didn't have much to do with Rosie, but instead the tied vote for kindergarden class president. This episode of course coming right after the 2000 election and the mess in Florida. Rosie just showed up at the end.

Man, that was weak. But better than last week's episode.
It had the kids. And I guess I get more of a kick out of goofing on Al Gore than goofing on Oprah. Of course, goofing on Al Gore seems so dated. I didn't get the "cerealy/seriely" joke. Why does he say that. And "Excelsior!"?? WTF?? But Cartman all bloated was funny. Cartman's plans getting foiled is funny.

I didn't get what they were trying to parody with Gore either, not to mention (since so many of you already did) cereal. I am getting the feeling that they are starting to really run out of ideas and out of the 8 or so episodes they do in a season, there really are only about 2 or 3 good ones. Maybe it's just time to give it up, or maybe just come back with a couple of holiday episode specials, or, by chance, a new movie :)

They were parodying the fact that Al Gore is now nothing more than an irrelevant attention whore.

There have been a bunch of stories latley about Al Gore since he is promoting his new "Global Warming" movie. One article I read mentioned that he used to go around to schools and do a slide show about global warming. "Mr. Internet" eventually upgraded it to powerpoint, then made it into a movie.
I didn't get the "cerealy/seriely" joke. Why does he say that. And "Excelsior!"?? WTF??
Cereal is slang for Serious. His overusing it show's why he is lame and has no friends.
Also, from Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manbearpig)
Al Gore uses the word "cereal" in place of "seriously/serious". This is in reference to his gaffe on The Oprah Winfrey Show when he was asked for his favorite "cereal" and his answer was "Oprah", thinking that the "Oprah" show was a serial.
The "Excelsior" tag line that Al Gore uses is a nod to the "Godfather of Comics," Stan Lee; the line was his signoff in his "Stan's Soapbox" editorial column in Marvel Comics.

Manbearpig sheparded them to safety. In the end, he turns out to be a good guy, and the kids learn a valuable lesson that day.

Awww, man... Is nothing sacred anymore??!?!who?
Thank you, Mr Mackey.
Students of South Park Elementary,
I'm here to educate you about the single biggest threat to our planet.
You see, there is something out there which threatens our very existence and may be the end to the human race as we know it.
I'm talking, of course, about ManBearPig.
(dum de dummmmm)
manbearpig?
It is a creature which roams the earth alone. It is half man, half bear, and half pig.
Some people say that ManBearPig isn't real. Well, I'm here to tell you now ManBearPig is very real and he most certainly exists.
I'm serial.
man, i love these guys!
