Channel Changing in TiVo

Ok. I just setup my TiVo and I have been trying to figured out how to change channel changing. When I change the channel using my TiVo remote it changes to the channel I want. The cable box then inputs the channel again (the same channel I changed to). Why would it do this twice? You would figure that when I put in the channel # it would go to it without having the cable box do it a second time. It is very annoying. TIA.

This is a result of the TiVo sending the channel number to the cable box. What you see on the screen is what the TiVo is sending, then the box follows. This is normal.

There isn't any way to change that? I know I may be picky but that is quite annoying.

The tivo just records whatever the cable box is putting out. When you change the channel on tivo, it must in turn change the channel on the box.

Once you set up season passes for everything you regularly watch, Tivo's Now Playing will fill up with your programs, and you'll gradually stop watching Live TV, and this won't annoy you any more. Watching Live TV (and the channel changing that goes with it) is rare for a tivo user.
