I want to stack an R10 and a T-60 together in the same cabinet space. Internal temperature on the T-60 is 10C hotter than with the R10. The T-60 case feels hot on right side of the top cover, and even hotter on the right side of the bottom cover. The R10 has no discernable heat anywhere on the outside.

Would it be best to place the T-60 above the R10 because heat rises? The R10 can obviously get rid of heat better because of the large fan on the rear of the case. Or does it really matter? How much space would you leave between them? I have about 15" max vertical height to play with. This is a cabinet the TV is sitting on.

Since the T60 is running hotter than the R10, place it UNDER the R10 in the coolest spot of your cabinet. Also, raise up the T60 by placing some bottle caps or hockey pucks under each foot to improve air flow underneath. Hopefully this is an OPEN cabinet with good airflow. If it's a closed cabinet you'll want to add an extra fan to minimize heat buildup.

I would put the hotter unit on the top. Why would you want to heat up the cooler one?
Except that you don't want to add heat to the T60.

I have my T60 on top of my HR10-250. Both are running under 44C. But, who knows when summer heat gets here.

Exactly .... putting the hotter T60 at the bottom of the stack will help it stay cooler. Putting it on top of the stack will increas its chances of overheating. It's OK for the cooler DVR to run a bit hotter.

It would be good to know what the exact temperature readings are.

The cabinet where they will be be located has a glass door, but I removed it to let the air in. The R10 is currently in there by itself, and the T-60 is in a side cabinet, but I need to move it as I have to leave the door to that cabinet open all the time or the T-60 goes up to 56C. Rather than try to get some cooling into that cabinet so I can close the door, I planned to put it down with the R10 where I can leave the door open (removed.)
