Anyone check it out last night. I thought it was a really good episode, with the whole Faith vs. Science healing methods. I thought it was cool how Chase put up the score board.
Next week we get House twice. Anyone know if it is the same episode, or two different ones, on Tuesday and Wednesday? I will have to check my To Do List.

As someone who believes that God heals, am I going to be pissed off at this episode?

Wilson sleeping with his cancer patient? WTF?? I used to like the guy, but that really bothered me.
I'm glad the dad finally came to his senses about his son.
I love this show.

I liked last night's show too. However, I read a lot of posts from people who miss the point of the whole show. It's not about "45 minutes of guessing then finding a rare, obscure disease and curing it at the end". It's about the interaction of the characters.
I think next week is a two-parter, starting on Tuesday and concluding on Wednesday. After all, it IS the start of sweeps!

She was a somewhat hot cancer patient though. I'd hit it. Good episode with a nice ending. I was hoping Chase would get beat up when he snooped through the house.

It's a two-parter. I'm going to have to juggle some SPs to make this work.
Not only is Wilson sleeping with her, he moved in with her! A terminal patient!
And what's the point of having a consultation at the office? Can't they just talk about it at home?
Anyone noticed he left the poker players at his home? Nothing to steal? Hows about a nice grand piano?

I don't think, but it seems that they can medically prove some of what the kid can do. Id like to hear your thoughts after ya watch it. I believe God heals too, but I don't really know about them people that touch your head and you can see again. I just don't know about that.

doom,
I didn't have a problem with it.
If you're a fan of benny hinn and the faith healer types, I guess you probably be mad at this episode. But if you're like me and were afraid it would be another hour of hollywood mocking christian belief, it wasn't like that at all.
I loved the poker game. "how come he gets a name?"

That's what I was worried about--the "House proves that faith healer is a scam artist, and so all Christians are idiots" plot. Sounds like I'll still enjoy the episode.

I'm sensitive to the media agenda (or maybe it's just an unorganized trend?) against Christianity. House's problem is more with the possibility of something that big outside of his control than with the concept of faith, but he did make a few snarky comments about how the little people need to believe, etc.
I was nervous at the beginning, but in all it was a pretty good episode. I'd give it a solid 85 on the tolerability scale...
Addendum:
I just noticed the reference to Arrested Development in your user title. I think you'll be able to negotiate the 15% that troubled me... :o

True. I noticed a couple of nice geetars hanging above it, though. And then there's his highly portable stash of dirty movies...

That kid had to answer to an even higher power, The Greatest American Hero! Way to school him at the end Ralph, Bill would be proud.

... The Greatest American Hero! ...
I was wondering if anyone else was going to catch that. I was waiting for him to fly out of the room and crash land in the hallway or something.

I was wondering if anyone else was going to catch that.
As soon as I saw him in the opening scene (at the revival), I turned to my wife and sung, "Look at what's happened to me, I can't believe it myself". She thought I was losing it. :D

That really bothered me as well. I don't understand why they are turning Wilson into a person who makes horrible decisions. I liked him much better when he was trying to keep House in check.

If this is a serious question.....
Herpes outbreaks can occur anywhere on the body. The disease is sexually transmitted and as far as I know, is incurable. But they did say it was a strain of Herpes that may have a cure. I don't really know that much about it (except that I want to avoid it!!).

Also unless they are pulling some magic medicine out of the air there is no cure for herpes. You can manage outbreaks but they do come back. Lyceme (sorry about the spelling) reduces outbreaks.

William Katt (http://imdb.com/name/nm0001411/) Played the kids father. His most famous role to date has been in The Greatest American Hero (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greatest_American_Hero). Oddly enough he is also the star of several movies titled House (http://imdb.com/title/tt0091223/) .

Wilson has always been portrayed as someone who makes horrible PERSONAL decisions. From the first episode they have made it clear that his marriage was his third marriage, and it was not very secure. I think House had it right when he said, Wilson needs to be needed, and when that is no longer the case, he moves on, and the person who needed him (wife) also moves on. A bad basis for a relationship makes a bad relationship.

McGill University, in Montreal.
There's a nice history of the medical school here (http://www.medicine.mcgill.ca/history/).
Boy, I laughed at that scene. Wilson's showing up to the poker game in a sweatshirt -- trying for the common touch? -- but totally spoils the effect (at least for this reader of Canadian literature) by wearing a McGill sweatshirt.
Kinda like someone who went to med school in the US wearing a sweatshirt from Harvard, Stanford, Johns Hopkins, etc. (fill in the name of your favorite medical school here).

You can manage outbreaks but they do come back. Lyceme (sorry about the spelling) reduces outbreaks. The diagnosis was herpes encephalitis. Read about it here (http://neuroland.com/id/herpes_ence.htm). House said they would put him on Acyclovir, just as the link recommends. It's not a cure, it's a treatment. Untreated, herpes encephalitis is very deadly.
