I am patiently waiting for Tivo Desktop to support the latest version of Mac OSX - does anyone know of any way that I can get the video files from my Tivo onto my Mac so that I can transfer them to my ipod & PSP? I tried TivoHMO written in Java from sourceforge.net, but it was just too difficult to use. Does anyone know of another option? Is Tivo ever going to come out with an update that supports OSX 10.4?
Thanks.

they've promised us a Mac version of TiVoToGo in mid-2006, so... soon?
There are a couple solutions out there, but they require hacking your TiVo a bit. I haven't used any of these myself.
If you've got VirtualPC or another emulator, you could run TiVoToGo for Windows inside the emulated environment

GETTING the files is easy-you can just use your Tivo's internal web server and a browser on your Mac. Doing anything with them is the hard part.
Hopefully Tivo Desktop 2.3 for OS X will be out within a few months, and hopefully it'll have the same options available as the Windows version for converting to other formats (sounds like it'll cost $20-30ish to upgrade it for those features).

I'm primarily looking forward to just copying them to my PowerBook - I'm usually away on weekends, so it would be spiffy to copy some shows and watch them on the go.
Converting would be spiffy of course, though I understand the potential "legal" issues

downloading the files is easy. Just point your browser to:
https://<your tivo's IP address>/nowplaying/index.html
note the "s" at the end of http
You'll be asked for a username & password.
Username = tivo
Password = your MAK (media access key, found in System Info on your TiVo's Messages and Setup menu screens)
It's simple from there.

I'm waiting for more Mac support as well....
It adds support for you lucky Intel Mac owners. I've noticed that I still get lag on my G4 when streaming iTunes though. Not sure what causes it or how to remedy it.

Yes, but it still doesn't support TivoToGo, which is what the original post was complaining about.

Similarly, there is a wonderful Widget out there (for you OSX 10.4 Tiger users) called "NOW PLAYING". The 2.0 version allows users to download the *.tivo files to their macs - working around the missing tivo to go support that those jerks take their time getting to us.
So now the problem is "viewing". I've been toying around with the program ffmpegX. I believe someone else here got the conversion to work using mpeg2 and mp2 quality. With just using standard settings I got a conversion to choppy video without audio.
With some free time and ingenuity I think this program will be our savior to the lack of tivo to go.
