Weaknees Drives

How does Weaknees sell 250 GB drives for 140 series 2 TiVo units? I thought those units couldn't use anything beyond 137 GB.

Anything running version 5.x or higher (or 3.1.5 on HD Tivo) can use large drives. 140 series units are currently at 7.x.

There is no particular limitation on size for the Series 140 different from other Series2. The 137 Gb limit on drives is a matter of the TiVo OS supporting large drives. Large drive support was added in one of the V 5 updates.

This weekend I just updated my 140 to a 400 Gb drive.
