Locked up....

Yesterday when I got home both the green and red lights were on, and it would not respond to remote or front panel commands....

Unplugged it and it restarted fine...

Anything that was set to record (which is not a lot since it is during the week) from around 9 am - 6 pm all says "Power was lost or ..... was unplugged" in the History....

First time this has happened on any of my DirecTivos .... Weird?

It happens sometimes. You did the right thing by rebooting.

The Tivo systems work so well it is hard to remember they are still computers. I imagine if M$ was running things we'd be rebooting every week.

I have that problem with my Samsung S4040R that I recently replaced the hard drive. I've come home twice in the past week and found my Tivo stuck on a image from the moment it froze. Pressing any remote button did nothing - had to do a reboot. It comes up fine after the reboot.

If it continues, I may pull the hard drive and run diagnostics on it. I would think that if there are some bad sectors on the drive, the Tivo O/S would mark the sector as bad and not attempt to write to that sector again.
