I would like to know if anyone has written a simple script to pull all the XML data from a TiVo Now Playing list and to show me where duplicates are (and make recommendations for deletions, based on completeness, and quality setting) ???
I have 6 tivos and im losing track!

I have 6 tivos and im losing track!I'm not sure how offbase this answer might be, but you can use TiVoPlayList (http://bellsouthpwp.net/d/c/dcahoe/tivo/index.htm) to access multiple machines and can export their Now Playing lists to CSV files.
It wouldn't be too difficult to open these files up in Excel and write a Micro to find duplicates.

I can't get this to see my tivo, any ideas?
Tried 192.168.1.100 to 110 and 192.168.1.1
the tivo is on .100

the tivo is on .100Hi Mike,
Here are some common things to try to get TiVoPlayList (http://bellsouthpwp.net/d/c/dcahoe/tivo/index.htm) running:
- click SAVE after typing in your machines IP address
- try browsing to https://x.x.x.x/nowplaying/index.html first with your web browser (preferably IE) and logging in with Username 'tivo' (all lower case) and Password your MAK (substitute your machines IP for the x's) (if you have parental controls turned on then the Password will be your 10-digit MAK + your 4-digit parental code for 14 total digits)
- If you can't browse to your TiVo using your browser, make sure port 443 is open or mapped for access (you will also need port 80 to download recordings)
- double check your TiVo IP on your Settings screen, if DHCP is enabled on your network, your machines IP might have changed since you checked it last
- double check your MAK on your TiVo settings screen, in fact you can just leave this field blank in TiVoPlayList and you will get a browser login as mentioned above
- verify that you are using a Series 2 machine with software version 7.1 or newer on your Settings screen
Thanks,
David Cahoe
