thats great for the HD folks, but what about all us SD folks who would love to trek beyond 6.2? :(

I emailed DirecTV yesterday asking when we can expect the software upgrade now that they have extended their agreement with TiVo. Here's the response:

Thank you for asking about the features that are available with the most recent DVR software upgrade. The features that are improved, or will become available with the 6.2 upgrade are:

Faster response time from the program guide
Searches are faster in WishList and Season Pass
The ability to group different episodes of the same series into folders
The ability to sort the Now Playing list alphabetically, or by date recorded

At this time, the 6.2 software upgrade date for HD DVR receivers has not yet been determined. Please be sure to keep your phone line connected to the receiver and you will receive this upgrade automatically, once it is available.

DIRECTV Customer ServiceThis is the same wording that already exsited for the 6.2 SD upgrade. They just sent you the 6.2 SD upgrade text. See their web site for the duplicate text that has existed since last Spring. Sorry to disappoint, but there is nothing new in this e-mail.

What makes you think that just because they extended the agreement that any software upgrades are on the way? You're making a reallly big assumption, that I don't believe is true.

Using google maps take a left on Tivo Drive and drive two blocks. On the left side next to the blue house you will see this big Rumor Mill.

Or, you can read through this thread (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=240294&page=1) and when you get to the end, see that there may indeed be some news about 6.2 coming to the HR10-250 ...

(You will also see a dead horse getting beaten, but that just shows that we are a persistent lot!)
