I'm thinking that there should be a mark 2 version of the hr10-250 hd tivo which could implement features on the unit that a software upgrade cannot fix.

Tell me if it's a good idea or not

I'm not sure, but I think the HR10-250 has the hardware already to allow many of the features that SAs have. Email DirecTV and suggest that they implement whatever they can.

BTW, this suggestion should probably have been in the HDTiVo forum. :)
