but I just bought a used Philips 704 tivo on e-bay, which will be my 2nd DT* Tivo, ( I have a huges HDVR2) this one came with a card etc.. so I am going to add this one to my account when I get it. Now it is my understanding that the $4.99 DVR fee that D* charges, will cover any and all D* Tivo units I have correct? I just have to pay the $5.00 extra reciever fee, right?

Also, I now need a bigger multi-switch, (I have 2x4) now, need a 2x8, could I also get a 4x8, even and still use only the 2 inputs, or do I have to have 4 inputs for it to work? I would like to get the 4x8 just in case I want to hook up another dish to point to the other bird one day, but right now I need to have 6 connections.

You're correct the DVR should only cost you the extra receiver fee. The 4x8 multiswitch will work the way you intend just make sure you hook the SAT lines to the appropriate ports (Round Dish to SAT A or 101 ports), leaving the others open for futher SAT upgrades.

Correct except the DVR fee is now $5.99/mo. If you are not yet paying that, you probably will be after activating the second DVR.
