We have a R10 with an oval dish 3 LNB. All of a sudden, the sat A died out. We did not touch anything on the dish or the wires. We fumbled around with it and switch up the wires on the multiswitch and it worked for about day and then it died out again. We have trouble sometimes getting local channels and the NHL channels on 760+. They will go blank but reappear later. Strange. Are our cables bad? Could it be something else? We've had no problems up to this point.

Do you have other DirecTV Receivers? Do they also have the problem? That will help us rule out a defective R10 DVR.

Yes I have other DTV receivers and they are working fine. It's funny how when we messed around with the cables, it seemed to work for a while but then pooped out again. I really hope it's the cables and not the R10.

If your other receivers are working fine, try swapping the R10 with one of the "good" receivers. If the R10 now works fine, then you know something is wrong with the cables/connectors feeding that location. If the R10 is still "bad", then you know it's defective.
