Apologies if this is in the wrong forum.. I was watching the Brewers on 642 (our local RSN) in my room. After the alotted amount of time for the game (3 hours) my channel went blank as it usually does when the game ends the game. However, the TV in the other room stayed on all throught the game.

My room has TiVo, while the other room just has regular DTV. Anybody know why this is? It has happened twice in the last week. Unplugging and re-plugging DID NOT WORK. Any help appreciated.

You bring up an interesting topic. I don't know if I can answer your question, in fact, I'm not even sure what your question is! Are you saying that the game lasted more than 3 hours? Was the other TV tuned to the same channel, or maybe it was on the other team's network?

Until you add more info, I'll hijack your thread with a related topic.

Like you, I follow a loser baseball team, but my loser is bigger than yours (KC Royals). Royals games, or any other special sporting event that does not appear on my RSN (Fox Midwest) main channel, show up in the guide with padded time, e.g. a 3-hour game shows as 6 hours. Up until this month, my R10 (and my HR10, I think, but I usually save that for HD recording) would end the recording after about 30 minutes of the white DirecTV screen that appears once said event goes off the air. Now it doesn't work anymore, and the R10 is recording the whole 6 hours. Anybody know why this happens? Was D* sending some sort of trigger to end recordings on the TiVos before and now they don't?

Obviously, these 6 hour blocks can cause conflicts with other timers, not to mention chewing up valuable disk space. I guess I may have to start scheduling manual timers... the horror!
