Satelite: Dish Network, 522 series
Tivo: Humax dvd burner, DRT800 series
I am having some issues. I have spoken with Tivo (1 time) and Humax (4 times). I cannot get the systems hooked up.
The last person I spoke with was Humax who told me to do the following:
The OUT of the DishNetwork (DVR) to the IN of the Tivo.
Disconnect the coax cable
The OUT of the Tivo to the IN of the TV.
Now this works, to a point. When I push the TIVO on the remote, I hear the sound of the Tivo going to Tivo Central, but what I get is the Tivo Central screen running (horizontal) to the left, as well as a live tv channel, merged together.
I called Humax for a fourth time, and they told me to speak with Panasonic as it is a tv problem.
Now my tv only has one red/yellow/white IN. Before we got Dish, we used a cable company. We had their cable box, Tivo and the exact same tv connected, no problem. A call to Dish states it has nothing to do with both Dish and Tivo being dvrs, and they have no idea why it isn't working. I love my Tivo and don't want to be forced to use Dish Network's scheduling/dvr system.
Anyone have any experience with Dish Network dvr's working with a Humax dvd burning unit?
