View Full Version : New Service Update?

So tonight I realized that I got a new service update.
Thing is, I was already on 7.2.2.

Got the same install message that I got w/ the 7.2.2 upgrade. Doesn't appear to be any difference that I can tell so far, but both my boxes got the same update tonight.

Sys Info now reads version 7.2.2-oth.01-2-590, not sure of the exact version from before.

Is this just a patch upgrade, or was something significant changed? Or is something just flat screwy going on here?

In a related question:

I know that the machine likes to reboot at 2am after a service update comes in. Does it still do this if there's something scheduled to be recorded at 2am? If so, having no warning at all could be a very unpleasent thing, if you happen to have scheduled say, part 6 of a 10 part miniseries that only shows every other year....

The same thing happened to me too. I don't know what it is.

There was a "k" version that was pre-released to random boxes. You likely had this release. This update just brings you up to what everyone else is running, but there is no difference.

I had the "Pending Restart" last night. I did have the 7.2.2(K version) I guess I received the official 7.2.2 release.

Do you mean that there is more than one version of the 7.2.2 software?

The "K" was the release to those who requested to be put on the list, the pre-release if you will, last step of beta testing maybe?

The one without the K is the mass release, and is replacing the "K" versions.

I also received the update last night. I wonder is this update is to resolve the compatibility issues in 7.2.2 with some network adapters.

I don't think it is different from K release at all.

I don't know about recording but I was watching a dvd on my humax at 2am when I got the update. (don't ask why I was up at that hour.) My dvd stopped and the tivo rebooted.
I have acidentally unplugged my tivo while it was recording before. It rebooted when I plugged it back in and resumed the recording and I had the recording twice on the now playing list the first part and the next part. I believe it was missing a few minutes when it rebooted.
