Hello all,

Although I've had Tivo series 2 for over a year and love it, I've had to abandon it as we made the move to HDTV through our cable company. As a result, I'm forced to use the cable company's DVR on our main TV. Now I'm trying to connect the TiVo to our 10 year old set in another room. I'm trying to hook the cable to TiVo without using a cable box. The main problem is the TV set only has a single coaxial RF cable input, no component inputs. I've tried to hook up the cable to the Tivo RF in, then a coaxial from Tivo's RF out into the TV. But all I get is a lovely picture of channel 3. Can the TiVo act as a tuner without a cable box, and if so, how do I get that image to a set using coaxial cable?

Thanks in advance,

Jessica

Yes TiVo can be a tuner, that's how I have mine set-up right now. Have you tried channel 4?

Did you re-run guided setup to tell the Tivo you're no longer using a cable box?

I moved a series 1 from using a digital cable box to a spare room. had to re-run the setup to switch the options.

Thanks all for replies ... after re-running setup, it works fine. (I was looking in channel changing settings for the option to use without a cable box and couldn't find it there, just options for different cable boxes.)
