I just recently switched from Cable to a Dish. For right now, I have them both hooked up and functional. Does that mean I can record 2 things at the same time?? One on cable (coming in the CoAx cable) and one on the dish (coming in the A/V cables)??

I know I could just try it and see what happens... but I just thought of it now and I'm not at home.

Anybody try this?

You cannot record two things at once on a stand-alone Tivo, regardless of input choices.

Can't do it with the existing Series 2 models, but you should be able to with the upcoming Series 2 DT models.

I guessed that was true... but I needed the confirmation.
:(

Ah well, I guess it's worth ditching the cable after all.

When you say Dish, is that the network?

If so, how are you hooking up your D receiver and your series 2 Tivo?

When we tried to hook ours up, the way Humax said to, we got a live channel AND the Tivo Central page (going horizontal across the screen). I cannot get a clear picture of just Tivo Central to reset up the Tivo.

Four calls to Humax and they say its my tv, a Panasonic. However, when we had a cable box, it was hooked up exactly how they want me to hook up D and Tivo. It worked before, but now it won't.

I simply hooked the A/V cables from the "OUT" on the dish receiver to the "IN" on the TiVo. I kept the cable plugged into the CoAx "IN" on the TiVo.

That's all I did, then I ran the guided setup and told TiVo I had both cable and satellite, hooked up the IR blaster for the dish receiver to change channels, etc...

Hope this helps!
