View Full Version : Bell Expressvu 4100 changing channels
I'd like to apologize in advance for this post as I am a complete TiVo n00b. :) I'm trying to setup my Tivo to be able to change channels on my BEV 4100 receiver. I went through the guided setup, did the tests, and nothing seems to work. The Tivo will attempt to change the channel but in every test it changes to channel 110 regardless of what channel it's supposed to be. Could this be a symptom of misplaced IR cables, or would it not work at all if that was the case?
I know that Echostar makes BEV receivers, but are the model numbers the same? I had a look at the "Cable/Satellite Box Compatibility & Codes List" here on this forum and it says that Echostar 41xx may be incompatible. But does the Echostar 4100 == BEV 4100? If it is incompatible, is there any sort of workaround? I'd love to hear from any canadians out there that have any experience setting up a tivo with the BEV 4100. Any help would be appreciated.
Did you ever solve the issue with your BEV4100?

FWIW (To My Knowlege):
Before Dishnetwork started using 3 digit models, their 4 digit models matched the Bell models. At that some older models of the 4xxx line were UHF only, so could not be used with TiVo without midification (to add an IR receiver, or other). The new Bell 4100 is equivalent to the current Dish 411.

I am having the same problem, even down to the channel 110 thing. I have fiddled with the IR cable, I've made a tent, I've tried different IR codes. Nothing has worked. I'm wondering if anyone has a solution? I've read through the threads and many people seem to have no problem using their TiVo with Expressvu.
My TiVo worked fine with Cogeco cable, but I just switched to Expressvu and I'm sorry I did. I can't get it to work properly.

Make sure the Expressvu receiver is set to remote address 1.
