View Full Version : Failed Daily Calls

We've had a problem with our series 1 unit making daily calls over the past 2-3 weeks. Test calls work, and even the daily call will connect, set the clock, check account status, and begin downloading. Eventually it fails.
I've tried numerous prefix settings to no avail. I assumed it was my Vonage causing the problem, but my brother in law has the same problem with a series 2 using a standard land line.
Any ideas?

The fact that the software is so different on a series two compared to series one I think the problems are coincidence. Vonage seems to work for some folks but not for many more. That's where I would pin the blame for the series one.

I tried for several weeks to get Vonage to work with Series 1. I ended up getting a wired adapter (Turbonet Card) and added the Series 1 to my home network. I just had to enter the dialing prefix ",#401" and was able to complete the daily calls.
I'm not sure if you can go wireless with the Series 1. I think at the time I did this it was hit or miss. For me going wired was easier and worked right away.
You can get Turbonet cards fro m 9th Tee and eBay.

I've been experiencing the same thing for the past 2 weeks now. I am now out of program data. I can successfully make a Test Call about 90% of the time. But I cannot complete the daily call. It fails at different stages - sometimes an error for not getting account status, sometimes starts to download for several minutes before failing due to "interrupted call". I have unhooked every phone in the house as well as the DSL so that only the TiVo modem was connected, but this still happens!
I have had no changes to my phone service, phones, TiVo, or anything else and the TiVo worked just fine prior to 2 weeks ago.
HELP!!! Anyone! Please!

My tivo picks up on the second ring EVERY single time we get an incoming call. We have to wait for it to disconnect before we can have a conversation. I have everything set the way it should be so why is it doing this.
