My TiVo that was recording '24' just stopped recording at about 6 minutes before the end. What the heck ? Darn good thing I was watching It live or I would have missed the ending. This has never happened before, to any of my TiVos.
Did this happen to anyone else just minutes ago ?

v7.2.1
My other TiVos have all upgraded to 7.2.2, and I was assuming this last one would do so any day now.
The last reboot on this unit was quite a while back when the power failed for a few minutes.

A reboot should fix it. Details here:

Oh, thanks for pointing me to that. I didn't realize it was an ongoing problem.
Is doing a 'Restart' good enough, or does it have to be the pull the plug kind ? As the clock would be off until the next server connection.

I think either method would work. The problem (if it is indeed the same thing you're seeing) has to do with hdd space allocation, and only on boxes that have been up for a very long time without reboots.

The clock would not be off either way.

The clock can keep time without power ?
I know that the VCRs I had before I switched to TiVos had capacitors that would allow them to ride out short power outages, but not for very long.

The TiVo is more of a PC in this regard. PC Motherboards have a battery designed for keeping power to a small chunk of memory (cmos) that stores the time and setup info for the bios. It would probably be able to stay powered down for several months before it was lost, and even if it was, it would reset itself on the first call home.
