I have a tv/vcr combo that my tv is hooked up to. Can I record a show with the tvs vcr that's in the tv while my tivo records a season pass show?
I hope so! Thanks! Tracy

If your source is plain cable (no box) then just split the line and feed one output to the TiVo and the other to the VCR inputs. Should work just fine.

I don't have cable. Just digital rabbit ears. :o
Also the vcr is just part of the tv not seperate.

As Jim said, you need to split the signal from your rabbit ears with a splitter, or you could get another set of rabbit ears if that's cheaper. Either way, the antenna has to be plugged in to both your combo and your tivo. You also need an audio/video cable to connect your tivo to your tv (3 rca plugs on each end, $12 at radio shack).
You'll use your input button on the tv remote to select between tivo and live tv.

Wouldn't it be easier to just set the TiVo on "standby"?
The TiVo would still record, right? But it would let the antenna signal also go thru to the TV and the TV's own tuner would work and allow the VCR to tape off its tuner.
I suppose this would depend on the TiVo using its RF line (not the AV cables) to connect to the TV...
