If I have a SA Series 2 Tivo... with a Lifetime Subscription ( I did this back in Feb I think)....
Can I still add a second Tivo at 6.95 /month (If I buy a used box?)....
And does that 4/15 deadline affect me and the 6.95 pricing?
AKA, will I or will I not be able to add a second receiver at 6.95/month.... in May 2006 (for example)?
..
Thanks... I read about 50 posts, and couldn't figure out a clear answer.

Sounds to me if you buy a "pre-owned" box you will be able to add MSD to your account at any time. You will not be able to buy a new box directly from TiVo for the MSD price of $6.95, since they sell directly only bubdled boxes.

You can still buy a new box from any retail channel and get the $6.95 MSD rate for it. Just don't buy it as a TiVo bundle.
If you want to buy from TiVo you can still get a 40hr refurb (http://www.tivo.com/2.1.1.0.ws.asp) for $155.40 and spend the included "1 year" gift card at $6.95 per month (makes the card last 22 months) after which you'd be billed $6.95/month.

That's why the new plan is so much simpler for the consumer. ;)

NO. This refurb deal is a bundle and will not be billed at 6.95 per month.

Right; that's one of the changes they made while they were "not raising prices." ;)

As long as you get your Tivo box from anyplace other than Tivo.com, you can add additional boxes at $6.95 per month (up to a max - can't remember if it's 5, 6, or 10).
The 4/15 deadline has nothing to do with MSD.
HOWEVER, you WILL have to commit any new box added under the MSD for a minimum of 1 year. ($6.95x12). After 1 year, the box will continue at $6.95 (or the then-current MSD rate) until you cancel.

Also remember even if you buy a bundled box, you can call and switch to the $6.95 price after the first year (or whenever your contract ends). It would effectivly make the Tivo hardware more expensive (since you're paying like $20-7 rather than $20-12), but it's probably not a bad deal.
