I see them everywhere I go now. Did it just get new management that tried to turn this company around by cutting lifetime subscription, raising prices, and spending the whole budget on advertising?

Where are you seeing ads? I've seen quite a few online, but none on TV, magazines, or newspapers.

I've seen TiVo ads on a bunch of websites I frequent
tho now that I am trying to remember, I can't... but, definitely have seen TiVo banner ads around
They really should advertise on television. "If you had TiVo, you wouldn't have to watch this commercial" lol

I've seen a ton of TiVo banner ads on the weblogs websites (Engadget, Autoblog, etc.)

I presume you're kidding.
Other than a few online ads, I haven't seen a Tivo ad in the traditional media since the ill-fated ad campaign a year or so back.
The CEO indicated last summer that he was going to advertise to the analog cable target market and to the general public.
Most people STILL don't know what Tivo really is - if they know Tivo, they think it's a generic term for DVR.

He also said (I believe it was during the Q3 conference call, but it might have been at a conference) that online advertising had proven itself to be their most efficient advertising method, and it led consumers directly to their most efficient distribution channel, direct sales via online or telephone. That certainly explains the increase in online visibility of TiVo, and they're probably using it to get a measure of the effectiveness of the new pricing program.

I've always been completely oblivious to any and all ads on the websites I visit, except for that one time I specifically looked for a Weaknees ad on TCF the day after my SA40 arrived.
I will be thankful for any reports I read from you all about TiVo ads spotted online.

I haven't seen many Tivo ads on TV other than the ones that were injected by DirecTV when they were selling DirecTivos and some random ones where Tivo was selling Tivos w/bundled service and no upfront cost (well before they made the announcement to get rid of lifetime).
I've seen some banner/sidebar ads on friendster.com and might have seen some on myspace.

:) If you have a website you should get in on it. However TiVo only pays if the customer buys so the advertising cost them nothing unless it brings in customers.
I have the ads on my website.

They really should advertise on television. "If you had TiVo, you wouldn't have to watch this commercial" lolI'm with you! I believe that would be a great commercial and almost as funny as the famous "Where's the beef!" commercial from many years ago.
And of course, people with a TiVo or another DVR would likely not see it, only those without one would. Maybe it would hard to get the idea across.
