I had a power outage, so I have to reset my 30 second skip. However, when I enter the sequence "Select-Play-Select-3-0-Select" I don't hear any confirmation beeps, and the skip feature has failed to be enabled.

I've tried this while watching both recorded and live material to no avail.

Any ideas?

That is the correct command sequence. You should be viewing a recording when entering the commands with your remote. Be sure to enter them at a "normal" pace .... about as fast as it takes to say each command. It will eventually work.

Why do you say to enter the sequence while viewing a recording? I have never entered the 30 second skip commands while watching a recording, I've always done it while watching live TV and it's always worked fine.

One critial factor when entering the sequence is to not press the buttons too fast. Try to time your key presses with about a .5 second pause in between.

Tips:
If you have a universal remote, program a macro with the sequence and include .5 second pauses.
You can enter the sequence while viewing live and it will work, but add a Clear at the end, otherwise the channel will change to chan 30.

Because it usually works better when done while watching a recording instead of Live TV.

Also if doing it with live TV, you end up changing to ch 30. :)

As I stated in my post above, not if you add a Clear at the end of the sequence.
