Hey all. I'm new to HD. Just got HD Tivo and have a Westinghouse 32 in LCD.
I was looking for input on the best way to set it up. All I have is the TV, HD TIVO, and progressive scan DVD. I've noticed the HD picture is great, but non HD channels aren't that good. My 10 yr old Sony seems to look better. I noticed that when I connect the Component Video cable instead of the HDMI-to DVI the non HD channels look better, but my HD channels look better with the HDMI-to-DVI. I see that I can't keep them both connected and just switch back and forth. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I know there are alot of pros out there. Thanks.

unless your dvd has hdmi, i would leave the dvd player on the component inuts and the hd tivo on hdmi.

Make sure you calibrate each input and that should help.

are you stretching the SD 4:3 out to full screen 16:9?? some people do and it works ok for them, but for alot of others it makes the SD picture not worth watching at all, they will just keep it standard 4:3 with black bars on side.
