I have an unopened Humax that was activated a year or so ago to be eligible for the $150 rebate. I got the rebate a long time ago, but quit using the box about 6 months ago. If I sell the unit to someone else, will they be eligable for a new $150 rebate if they sign up, or is it one rebate per TSN? Thanks.

1 rebate per TSN. Don't forget if you activated about 6 months ago, you probably have a 1 year contract.

Sorry but, I did not read your first thread very thoroughly.
Why is it that you would have an "unopened" Humax that was activated a year or so ago, but only quit using the box about 6 months ago?
If the box was unopened, how could you quit using the box?
If the box was activated a year ago, why would you not be using it?

If the unit was purchased at a retailer, yes it would be eligible using the tsn. Scenario, suppose you bought it at a store like Costco, returned it after 6 mths - they put it back on shelf and I purchased it. - we'd have same TSN#.
In your case, the answer is no b/c the rebate also requires a the receipt from an authorized retailer, to be accompanied with the submission.

I bought a few of them as Christmas gifts for Christmas 2004. I registered them to get the rebate but I never opened or used them. Once the rebates were fullfilled, I canceled it. This was one of several Tivos I bought that year for gifts. I ended up NOT giving it away so I have a spare. I'm now looking to sell it.

Hey at least you're honest about violating the intent of the rebate (I read your other posts). I guess that's why the rebate rules have changed to min 1 yr service committment, and the rebate processing verifies the receipt transaction details with the retailer.
Best thing to do is black out the UPC code on the box before selling it.

Uh, what are referring to about other posts? Also, by buying 4 Tivo's as gifts (and paying for 3 months of service as part of the gift) I didn't violate any "intent". Tivo currently has 3 paying members because of my Christmas gifts... We're more than even...

This debate has been covered with you before. You found a 30day loophole in the rebate, which violated the intent of the rebate. Now you say that you bought/gave them as gifts - Great!
Cheers
