I *think* this may be a new Les Stroud show.
On the survivorman web site I see no references to a snow Colorado ep nor a Amazon show. I could be very wrong tho...
The show is Science of Survival "lost in the Snow" & Escape from the Amazon"

I just pulled this from Les's web site
"guest hosting on a series for Discovery US called ‘I Shouldn’t Be Alive – part 2 – The Science of Survival) – (shot in Colorado and England where they put me in a chamber and did hypothermia and frostbite testing on me)."

I'm not sure it's the same thing but...

Yeah, he was on a morning radio show yesterday. He mimics that couple that got stuck in their car for a few days and then decided to walk out in tennis shoes. Les made mukluks out of the car seats.

Thanks for the heads-up! I really enjoyed Survivorman so I setup a SP for Science of Survival as well.

This show was pretty neat, nice seeing Les back in action.

I think he will also be hosting the Expidtion Everest special on the new Disney ride, it's showing on the Science channel tonight at 9, and repeating often, then will be on Discovery Channel in a few days as well.

I really like the lost in the snow ep also! very interesting.
I bought a magnesium fire starter thingy for my husband.

The MAgnesium fire starter thing was pretty wild.

I think it's pretty cool because my Camera (EOS 10D) is made of a magnesium alloy body, I wonder if I could use it to start a fire? :)

I'd wonder about he alloy part but there's alway the lens assuming the sun was out.

Perhaps someone could answer the question my husband & I had for the snow ep. Les started a great smoke fire with the spare tire. Assuming he had a multi tool & a tire change kit. How did he get the tire off the rim?

Good catch, alyssa! It's extremely difficult to get a tire off a rim without specialized equipment. However; assuming you had a standard spare tire on a steel wheel, you could still start a fire without too much trouble. You'd just have to pool the gasoline between the tire and wheel instead of inside the tire. The net effect would be the same, i think.

I was looking forward to this show..but have to admit I was totally disappointed. Spoiled by his Survivorman series it wasn't what I'd hoped for.
