Smaller Font Menus in 7.2.2

Has anyone else noticed the smaller font in the menus after the 7.2.2 upgrade?

Are they making room for new features early?

The main menu now has at least 2 lines open at the bottom.

Why not make the font bigger for easier reading or better yet, give me control of how big I want the font.

Maybe I am myopic and need a bigger font to see from accross the room. Personalized menus would be nice in the next upgrade.

I can't tell if the font size is slightly smaller or the menus (especially TiVo Central) are crammed closer together. I think it's a combination of the two.

The new spacing does allow for one extra row on TiVo Central. I liked it the other way. The current way has some issues with icons being out of alignment and just not as attractive.

I just got the latest update and I think it is both a smaller font and being crammed together. Plus the moved the "Pick Programs To Record" on the menu...

That's probably why they did it! Previously DVD units were left out of certain promotions because they did not have enough room on the TiVo Central page to display the additional menu item. (they have one more menu item by default then regular S2 units) This new spacing will allow them to display the promotions that they were previously unable to display.

Or if you want to be more sinister they could always use it to display a second star advertisement. ;)

Good Point

I didn't think about the fact that other TiVo units not having the DVD functions.

They apparently didn't want to make the menu scroll and want all advertisements to be displayed on the main screen.
