When I first got my Hr10-250 (two years ago), I upgraded it with another 250GB drive. Since then, everything's been fine.

Lately, I've been getting spontaneous reboots. Occasionally it won't respond to commands. I hear one of the HDs inside and it occasionally makes a soft clicking noise.

It's time to replace the two 250's with two new 400GB drives. Problem is, I can't find my tivo.bak backup image from the original Hr10-250.

Can I try to backup my existing Hr10-250 image (without saving recordings) and then move them to two new 400GB drives?

[2x250] -> [2x400] Will the Hr10-250 see the new added space?

Any advice from the knowledgable much appreciated!

That will likely work unless your drives have failed to a point where the software can't be backed up. Sounds like you will be fine.

Just back it up, restore it and expand it.

But I have already expanded the original 250 GB image once. Will I be able to do it a second time?
