How to get wireless faster?

I have a series two, with a netgear wg111 into an linksys wireless g router. I only am getting 2Mbps transfer rate. What am I doing wrong?

From what I've seen the TiVo Brand Wireless G adapters will get you really close to wired transfer rates. However depending on the type of TiVo you have* it's still going to max out around 7Mbps for TTG.

* Toshiba and Humax DVD Recorder units are the slowest of all TiVos and the older 240 "black" TiVos are the fastest.

Those were pre-7.2.2. With 7.2.2. rates are higher. I also tested some tips and tricks for increasing speed and show the results there.
