Answering the "worst" would only further ostracize me from the rest of you, as you've no doubt never heard of them. :)
Noone tops Bill Cullen. Next up: Gene Rayburn, Garry Moore, Tom Kennedy and Jim Perry.

I'm a Wink fan, probably because I watched so much Tic Tac Dough as a kid. I really loved that show.

I'm a Wink fan, probably because I watched so much Tic Tac Dough as a kid. I really loved that show. In the early '60's Gene Rayburn hosted Tic Tac Dough. I remember him personally handing out tickets to the filming on one occasion.
As the audience entered the studio they were handed one of three cards with Tic Tac or Dough written on them.
At the end of the show the matching card holders to the winner got a prize.
I worked for a messenger service at the time after high school and was able to attend the filming often.
On this particular day If I had had the right card I would have won a Ronson electric shaver. On the day I did hold the right card the prize was a 2 transistor radio. A real piece of junk. I still remember being horribly disappointed.

Monty Hall - let's make a deal
/the entire show was just so esoteric, people in weird costumes, people bringing in all sorts of stuff just in case Monty might want to trade it for money.
/bob barker and that dude from family feud are close seconds

Bob Barker is "THE MAN"
He had "juggies" since way back in the day.
Everybody else bows to the "Bob".

Best:
Gene Rayburn
Ken Ober ("Remote Control" on MTV)
Chuck Barris
Geoff Edwards
Worst:
Pee-Wee Herman (Hosted "You Don't Know Jack" which lasted for about 4 shows before being canceled. I liked Pee-Wee's playhouse and his movies. I've liked Paul Rubens in movies like "Matilda" and "The Blues Brothers", but he sucked as a game show host.)
Wink Martindale
Louie Anderson
Richard Karn

Surprised no one mentioned Peter Marshall on the original Hollywood Squares as one of the best. His rapport with the celebrities helped make that show.

I don't know about any of the remakes, but Bob Eubanks was the host of the original Newlywed Game.
He merits my worst list for his continual use of the term "make woopie".

Can't stand any of them except - Richard Dawson, and my all time favorite from the early days of TV GROUCHO MARX.
I wouldn't be able to stand Richard Dawson if it weren't for his hosting of of "The Running Man"

Worst ever: Ryan Seacrest. I don't think the guy realizes that Simon *is* being honest and is giving constructive criticism... and he just plain annoys me.
