Apparently, a recent software upgrade to the TiVo service has resulted in the Thumbs Up message flashing continally at the top right-hand corner of my TV screen when watching a program saved to my TiVo. An example is when I watched last night's episode of "Prison Break" on Fox, there were commercials for "Bones" (which I also TiVo and watch later). Anyway, the Thumbs Up message kept coming up. The only way I could stop it was to stop the program and restart it. Is there a way to disable the Thumbs Up feature (but leave it functional for restarting the machine)?

Thanks!

There's no way to disable the pop-up thumbs up display. Futhermore, that's advertising so even if there was a way to do that, it couldn't be discussed here.

It's a bug that's been seen here occasionally, but it's so rare you're likely never going to see it again. Don't worry about it.

i had this happen to me once last week... i was FFing through the commercials and one of them had the Thumbs Up logo, and when the show started up again the Thumbs Up thing was still going.

I took a random guess that maybe it never got the "stop doing that" command, so I hit rewind, watched the end of the commercial, and the thumbs up stopped.

So, try that... rewind a bit, let the commercial finish, and see if it goes away (c:

Hit the clear button on your remote and it will (or should) go away. I've had it stay up a few times after FF'wdng through a spot and the clear button always works for me.
