Hi all! I just recently purchased an 80-hour TiVo box with lifetime subscription. I was wondering if there's anything I can do to tape two shows that are on at the same time. Thank you.

Your TiVo can only record one show at a time. You will need a second recording device, like a second TiVo, a VCR, a DVD Recorder, etc.

I don't have any VCR's connected at this time. I was wondering if there are any modifications I can make to make this possible.

Yep. You can buy another TiVo, or even better, wait for TiVo's dual tuner model to come out.

Other than that, you're out of luck. TiVo only has one tuner.

I know it only has one, but can't I add another? And I can't transfer my lifetime to the new one.

No. There is no hardware, such as a USB tuner, that is supported by the TiVo software.

Your only option is a second recording device.

To connect a VCR? Yes, all you have to do is buy a VCR and hook it up.

Who's on first?

I would like to have my TiVo make toast. Are there any modifications which will make this possible?

The tivo only has one tuner. The tivo only has one MPEG encoder. The tivo can only record one thing at a time. What you want is another tivo. What exactly about this is confusing you?
