TiVo Series 1 and Cablevision Optimum Voice

I'll be moving very shortly and was looking to take advantage of Cablevision's "Triple Play" package that includes VoIP phone service. However, I understand that many TiVo users have problems connecting via phone line for the daily updates. Does anybody have instructions on how to get a Series 1 TiVo to connect through Optimum Voice? Or any recommendations to avoid it at all costs? Thanks for your replies in advance.

My TiVo connected fine through Optimum Voice when I had it hooked up to the phone line.

It might work. I might not work. It might work some of the time. It might work before or after they tweak the CODEC. It might work for a while if you apply one of the various tricks that are spread around this forum. That's about as much as you can reliably say about a modem on VoIP.
