I pulled a link to the TiVo site that put me on a list to get my Tivo
upgraded to 7.2.2, well the unit was upgraded and that was good.
Now I've upgraded my TiVo with a larger hard drive from Weaknees
which went in great! but they shipped the hard drive with 7.2.0
Does anyone have that link to TiVo to get on their upgrade list?
Thanks

You'll get it again soon, I'm sure. Your TSN is already on the list.

Thanks Steve.
Is what you are saying is that once I'm on the list (even though they've
already upgraded me with my original HD) they'll keep checking to see
that I have the correct version of software?

Does it check everytime it dials in for the most recent software?

Buddy here at work got the new version a couple days ago, so I checked mine and it hasn't yet.

If I remember right, he got the version with the clip protection a couple days before I did.

After reading about all the spontaneous reboot problems, I'm not sure I do want it yet.

Yes TiVos do check for updated software when calling in. Your unit won't upgrade until TiVo authorizes your TSN (TiVo Service Number) for the upgrade. You can speed up the process by going to the Priority Request (http://www.tivo.com/priority) form.

If you've downgraded your software, your unit will once again upgrade to the latest version that it is auth'd for. Just make sure the image you've installed is for the proper model of hardware.

And don't make a habit of this, or TiVo's computers might raise a virtual eyebrow or two. But once or twice is ok.

What the heck is a Vito and why are you posting on the TiVo forum?
