I am looking to purchase a new DVD recorder to transfer my Tivo recordings. My preliminary research reveals that some DVD recorders have strong copy protection that does not allow the Tivo recordings to transfer. I am looking for two things in my new DVD recorder: 1. no restrictions on the Tivo transfers to DVD and 2. decent quality on the 6 hour recording mode. "Decent quality" in my opinion would be at least as good as VHS in SP mode.
Can anyone make any good recommendations?
Thanks!

I just bought a Toshiba RD-XS52 that has a 160 gig hard drive and a burner in it.I haven't tried it with my R10. Will I be able to record from it?Will I be able to play my R10 recordings and save them to the Toshiba Hard Drive? Thanks for the help.

Im using a Panasonic ES20 and have had good luck with it. I usually record in the 2 hour mode to preserve the pic quality.

Took back a Sony and replaced it with a Panasonic. No complaints!

I really like my Panasonic DMR-E55. I bought it off eBay for less than $100.

I don't want to buy it off the net. I am looking for a good one to buy from a big box retail store such as Best Buy or whatever. By the way, Google seach did NOTHING for me except locate some car amps and cell phone batteries. Thanks, Googs!

As long as we aren't taking this the wrong way. Have you ever tried the manufacturers site. They usually make it fairly easy to find a dealer in your area.
