Repeat guided setup without peanut remote?

Does anyone know how to "repeat guided setup" with a universal remote or without the peanut remote. I bought the R10 used and am getting a universal DTV remote in the mail. As a safety measure, you have to press thumbs down 3 times to do the set up. Is there another way to get past this?

If the white remote has a format key, then it will accept codes 01442 & 01142, in which the RED key on the white remote is the Down Thumb command.
