Image Shadows

Hooked up my new Sony KDFE50A10 Yesterday. I've tried all video options, but
the players and hole flag poles have lines (shadows) along the edge. I also can see the same shadows on a smaller 27" crt set with another dvr. It looks worse on the 50' screen. NCAA Basketball is terrible. The players appear to be blurred, nor crisp. This also appears on the smaller set. Signal strength is 93. Any hints?
Is there a known DIRECTV or DVR problem? DVR's are hitachi and phillips series 2.

This sort of video "ghosting" is usually caused by ....

1. Video adjustment for "sharpness" set too high.

2. Using RF coax connection from your DirecTV receiver/DVR to the TV. Use SVideo for the best standard definition video quality. Use HDMI/DVI for the best HiDef quality.

3. Poor quality DirecTV feed. Some channels are more compressed than others, especially some local stations and the sports channels. Compression artifacts might produce the symptom you're seeing.
