switching between tuners

i recently moved and am having trouble with one of my dtivo units. first off, one of my units is plugged into a phone line and one isn't. having read forums here i understand that that is not a problem. the problem i am having is that i can't switch between the two tuners using my remote. i attempted this using the down arrow on the remote and also on screen with the remote. any ideas out there?

Far easier and faster.

Be sure that both tuners are active.

The first and most obvious question is, do you have both inputs connected? When you hit the info button and press the down arrow, does it tell you what is recording on the other tuner?

Also, sometimes on a reboot, you must hit the DirecTV/Tivo button at least once before the down arrow works.
