This is more of a frustrated sigh than anything I expect anyone to help with. My old TiVo broke Sunday after only 9 months. I quickly ordered a new one, and went for the Humax DVD. I had really hoped that it would ship with the upgraded software that I understood many were shipping with. No luck. I don't have a phone line. I don't know anyone who has a phone line. Even my parents don't have phone lines. The closest person with a land line lives 2 hours away - my grandmother. It'll be days, at least, before I either find someone closer, or can drive to her house to set it up.
