I got HD-DVR from D-*. What is the advantage to hacking my unit if any. I'm new to the fourm and Icouldd use any kindd of help. Thanks the Novice.

The first requirement is to have more time than sense. I'm very happy with my hacked HDTivos but it took alot of reading and some frightful screwups (all attributed to not following instructions) to get there. I am still working on moving shows from one HDTivo to the other but just having tivowebplus is worth it to me.
