[TiVo Steve]

I found a new site to help schedule TiVo recordings. It's called CosmoTV. It's at http://cozmo.tv/?versionChecked=true. They have a blog at http://cozmotv.typepad.com/. Works like Yahoo scheduling and TiVo Online.
It is new (and kinda slow), but has a great search engine! Check it out.

I'm not comfortable giving them my email and password... I don't imagine they have anything nefarious planned but those credentials will give up my address, TSN, partial credit card numbers, allow them to make changes to my account, etc.

The owner, Alex Rowland has been trying to schedule a demo with me for a few weeks but we haven't found a mutually convenient time yet. In the meantime, Thomas Hawk met him in person and has a review up: http://thomashawk.com/2006/03/cozmotv-welcome-to-television-20-time.html. I belive Alex of TivoBlog had a Skype chat as well and may have a post coming. They've got some interesting sharing/tagging things in the works beyond basic scheduling.

I totally agree with you on the privacy front. It's too much to give up. But at the same time, it's really a siren song to me. I will frequently go through the entire guide looking for things to record. To be able to use tagging would be very cool.

I definitely think tagging, sharing, and collaborating are appealing features to many and would give TiVo another selling point over basic cableco DVR - they should go down this path as well - on their own or by picking up the two CozmoTV developers (they seem to have vision and skills) who are located in their neighborhood.

Just wanted to say thanks for the feedback. We've been getting a lot of folks complaining about the need for TiVo login information. We have no intention of using this information for anything other than recording shows on your TiVo. This would be terminal to our business.

Hopefully as we begin developing new versions of the product, you will feel more comfortable with providing this information to get the most out of the product. Please let us know if there is anything else you would like to see in future versions.
